WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased from item Level upgrade upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader kit in the proper steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade items their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
