World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item upgrader mod's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item upgrader kit must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instancefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrade method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every when you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its initial state and the player having to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the Best item upgrader definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
