World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade item increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item upgrader kit will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what will be improved following the reset.

The process of upgrading an item upgrader kit can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item level upgrade it is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This can be a downside since the item may become more expensive even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, with a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonuses. This is a good idea but it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since the Best item upgrade version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than normal equipment. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
