Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their stats.

There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer a general bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be used in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting material.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any required components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of either.

The number of upgrade components required for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced by various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded by a prefix such as a rune or an insignia, and others can be enhanced by adding an suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item's name like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph has a range of values that it could enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by but not the amount it actually increases the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

You can remove the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item upgrader where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.

If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of the glyph will vanish. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to make it more valuable. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained through a variety of methods, including in mistery boxes, as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a brand new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they are still able to be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, which means higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls used in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This is evident on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options for raising ilvl.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow players to pay for it using money or food items that would allow players to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. The developers do not plan to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of upgrading a stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item level upgrade will keep its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
