But it can get stuck or entangled with smaller and flatter objects like shoelaces, USB cables and pens.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test on how well it cleaned baking powder from corners and baseboards. Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was still very quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't mop, and its removable cleaning pad was a challenge to attach. It also wasn't able to handle dried-on dirt.

Its app is basic, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does support Alexa however its voice controls aren't very precise or responsive. It's also a bit sporadic when it comes back to the charging station following the course. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route however the RX3 bumbles around until it gives up.

Another issue we faced was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. It was effective in keeping our shoes and furniture legs away however it could easily get caught on cables, socks, and rug.
