What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Some items have an inherent boos that are less useful when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap which provides extra potion slots. These are often upp'd to add value to an item that is perfect or close to being perfect.

Costs

There are a few costs that are associated with upgrades to items. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new level of the item and the number of perks it receives and can be costly. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.

The second is the price of the items required for an upgrade. These items are usually Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The quantity of these items required is available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the size of the upgrade. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on its new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other crucial statistics. In some instances the upgrade will provide additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of available advantages.

Rarely, the advantages obtained will cost more than one perk slot In these instances the upgrade will replace the perks with the highest cost. Occasionally, the upgrader will make other adjustments to an item, like changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an unwieldy or operative property. These modifications are based on an item upgrade's ilvl. They may also require special materials, such as Adamantine.

Success Rate

The upgrade of an item is dependent on the chance. Like any random system, there is a possibility that it will not succeed. However there are some things which can improve the odds of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or adding extra materials to your upgrade.

The Upgrade Pity is available through the NPC for the smithing process in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of the upgrade being successful by a percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus that certain items offer but is more stable. It can be added to any weapon or armor and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional materials to the upgrade, increasing its chances of success. These are shown in a window that is above the + button. However, there are limitations to this, and the largest amount of material that can be added is shown just above the + button in the user interface.

Another way to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding is by using the item level upgrade known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful if you have an item or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next tier without risking its breaking.

If an upgrade fails the system will be returned to its original state. This is typically a break, but it could also be a downgrade. Save an upgrade until you reach the maximum level for an item.

There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding. For instance, upgrading a piece of equipment using HD Oridecon or HD Elunium repeatedly will give you a higher chance of success. Similarly, enhancing the chance to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will also increase the chance of success.

Failure Rate
