What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs

There are a few costs associated with item upgrades. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the item's new ilvl and the amount of perks it will gain, and can be expensive. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. The items used are typically either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). These items can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional elements to the upgrade, increasing its chance of success. They are displayed in a window above the + button. There are however limitations to this, and the highest amount of material that can be added is displayed directly above the + button in the user interface.

Another way to increase the chance of a successful upgrade is to use an item called Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item upgrader kit can be helpful when your piece of equipment or weapon is close to or has reached the highest level of its level.
