They also provide rewards and upgrades. The Blacksmith is able to sell them to you.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Every recycled item adds one level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapon

When a weapon is upgraded, it receives an initial damage bonus as well as an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. The weapon can also gain a variety of upgrade components that provide additional attributes or effects as well as unique cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be inserted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. Most require the equipment to have an available upgrade slot and meet certain requirements. Once a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, it is able to be upgraded but the previous upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be found using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool, or by using a high-end salvage tool on the item it self.

In addition to the normal upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded by adding an attribute called Calibration that increases certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is done through the Gear Workbench interaction menu. Depending on the weapon tier it can be done up to four times.

Once the weapon has reached its maximum upgrade, it can then be rebuilt to add additional bonuses and effects, or to improve specific stats. These upgrades can all be used simultaneously and the effects vary depending on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the damage a weapon deals.

Generally, it is recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, then armour defense, and then the other secondary stats as required by your build. Particularly, it is common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon before they upgrade any other gear, because it helps maximise DPS. This is especially relevant to enchantments that are extremely efficient in increasing a weapon's damage and other stats.

Armor

These upgrades may also provide additional effects, for example, more damage or a cosmetic enhancement. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, buying from NPC vendors, loot drop or as quest rewards.

Armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. In the majority of cases the armor can be upgraded to the next tier once an upgrade is applied. This can be done for all types of armor, however certain items are not upgradeable in any way (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).

The majority of armor upgrades boost the strength or defense of an item by only a tiny amount. However, certain upgrade components can provide significant enhancements to strength or defense, especially when upgrading an epic item.

In addition to enhancing the defense base of an item level upgrade, certain upgrades also provide special abilities that can be activated when wearing an armor. These abilities can be helpful in combat, for instance providing a boost to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades also offer passive effects, such as decreasing the amount of damage sustained while wearing armor or adding the ability to deflect attacks.

Upgrades to armor could require multiple attempts, based on the type of armor. If a player wants to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale and the first attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor with an armor base defense of 59-67. The second attempt would result in a new Dragonscale armor that has an initial defense of 67-77 and so on.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do this, they must visit each of the four locations referred to as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations holds an incredibly powerful fairy who can upgrade a piece of armor for the player.

Contrary to popular belief, armor in The Division 2 is not useless. The fact of the matter is that certain armors have very significant increases in poison, curse, fire or magical damage reduction, making them invaluable for specific builds. Additionally, there are ways to improve armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait to boost armor penetration, or the challenger trait to lower total weight.

Potion

By putting a potion in a stand for brewing, you will be able to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a brand new level of potion effects, and can be repeated for higher levels of potency.

The potions also gain a custom color, which can be chosen by the player via /give. This color will affect the effect clouds' area-of-effect as well as the arrows that are generated. In Bedrock Edition, the custom color of the potion also affects the potions' particle effects.

The water bottle, a common potions that are thick and awkward now have a brand new texture of brewing. Added potion of weakness and healing potion in the Creative inventory. Addition of lingering potions, which can be brewed with splash potions or Dragon breath. Also added is a potent potion that has the status effect of Mining Fatigue. Trinket

A trinket is a small ornament that is inexpensive or a piece of jewelry. It could be a necklace, ring or even a small flag used to identify a boat's lateen yard. It can also be a gilded trinket that is fixed to the mast of a vessel.

This bizarre trinket appears to be influencing the denizens of this maze, making them more common. At its current level the trinket makes all types of mimic Xx more common and gives every floor a Y% chance of having an ebony-colored mimic. Upgrades to this trinket cost a small amount of energy.

The magic from this enchanted scepter seems to influence the dungeon, making it more likely to produce water and grass. This trinket at the current level will cause X% of regular floors to be filled with grass or water. It will not alter glyphs, enchantments, cursed armor or weapons, or other items that are created to aid in the elimination of hazards rooms.

This item, which looks like eyes of a newt, seems to affect your vision in a manner that goes beyond simply narrowing your field of vision. At the moment, this trinket boosts the overall health of the drinkers of healing, waterskins, and wells of health by X% and gives you vision on enemies within the Y tiles. This is not a stacking feature with Heightened Senses.

After completing the Mastery Cave After completing the Mastery Cave, you will be able to find Trinkets by beating Monsters and inside chests and crates in Skull Cavern. They are not found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

When you have a trinket which requires upgrading put it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will affect the trinket which is random, either increasing or strengthening its effects. You can reforge a Trinket multiple times as often as you like, but it will always have an impact that is different from the one you had when you made it.

You can also upgrade your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst at the Alchemy Station. This will cost you 6 energy, however it will increase the trinkets power by a tiny amount.
