Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of item names. For example, adding the suffix Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.

Once an item has been leveled out, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. To determine the height of a structure, engineers will employ an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can boost the strength, damage or other characteristics. You can do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item upgrade, or to upgrade another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you could be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an unit. This is a good way to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character quicker, which enables you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in a variety of ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They also aid in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will provide a significant improvement in their stats. It will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
