World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the number of perks that need to be modified to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

The level of an item will allow players to compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the item's level.

On PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its level. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using formulas that determine the value of an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the size of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item upgrader mod. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item level upgrade. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes could be used to give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item by specific stats, or reroll affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are an exclusive item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the luck of an item upgrader up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
