What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader is an additional widget to the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no benefit in terms of gameplay other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

There are many enhancements that can be obtained with an upgrader. They can include stats, as well as extra bonuses. These bonuses can be incorporated into weapons, armor, and trinkets. They can be used to improve the capabilities of the character, or can add an additional element of variety to an existing build.

Costs

There are some costs related to upgrades of items. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. The cost is based on the item's new ilvl and the amount of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be expensive.

The other is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the item's new ilvl bonus, perks, as well as other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In some instances the upgrade will provide additional advantages that can be picked from a list of perks.

In rare instances the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing benefits.
