World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item upgrader kit, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following a reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

In the final game, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item upgrade, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item upgrader mod [read this post here], it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item returning to its original state, which requires the player to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade items slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
