WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item level upgrade (head to Fewpal) from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if the items are from a different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
