World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain 3% of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. upgrade items components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment with fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item upgrades will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.

In the endgame you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different amount of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item upgrade gets leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item upgrader kit to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could increase in price even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
